Havan and Kirtan is being conducted regularly by Atmagyanam and you are welcome to join us. Join our group for more information. Havan is a powerful vedic ritual, a fire ceremony. It brings purification and transformation to the individual and the environment when practiced regularly. We chant a selection of sanskrit mantras together and offer herbs to the fire. Mahamrityunjaya mantra with a sankalpa (resolve) for health and healing for all is chanted 108 times.

Afterwards we sing a few Kirtans and share a lunch together :-)

...more on Havan from ''Janani: Understanding Prakriti'' by Swami Prembhava Saraswati:

Havan is a small form of yajna that requires one or more people to perform. The practice of havan has been revived from ancient times by Sri Swami Satyananda and is now performed by ashrams and aspirants around the world, not just for individual and social peace but for the wellbeing of earth and her ecosystems. During a havan the divine forces are invoked through the chanting of Sanskrit mantras, the offering of healing herbs, samagri, into the fire, and the sankalpa of the sadhana. Through the havan, individuals align themselves and their environment with the positive energies of creation, which are generating, sustaining and transforming.

''Nowadays we know about the environment, about the greenhouse effect, global warming and so on. Yajna is the remedy for these imbalances. All lovers of the environment who believe that the atmosphere should be purified, that carbon monoxide must be reduced, should practise yajna, not only on a mass scale but also on an individual scale.''
—Swami Satyananda Saraswati
