Who We Are
Shantimitra (Ania)
has been and continues to be a devoted yoga aspirant for over a decade, with deep roots in Bihar Yoga and Sivananda Yoga Traditions. After intensive study in India — including training at the Bihar School of Yoga and ongoing study in the Sivananda tradition — her teaching emphasises awareness. Her approach is gentle yet profound, addressing all aspects of personality. She continues her own practice daily and brings experience, clarity and calm to every session.
Atmagyanam
The Havan (fire ceremony) will be offered by a very special guest Atmagyanam from India. Atma is a life long student of Vedanta, Yoga & Tantra. He is devoted to the path and teachings of Sw. Sivananda, Sw. Satyananda and Sw. Niranjananda of Bihar School of Yoga. Atma regularly conducts Mahamrutyunjaya Havan ( Fire ceremony )and would be happy to share the practice and few insights with you.
Steffi
will prepare nourishing vegetarian meals with care, supporting the retreat with wholesome food that sustains practice and rests the nervous system.
Together we hold a steady, respectful environment for practice, silence, and self-inquiry — each in our role, supporting your experience throughout the weekend.
what people say
I really love yoga with Shantimitra because it is so different from what is usually taught. The teaching goes back to the roots of holistic yoga and focuses on all the different aspects of yoga. Shantimitra studied at the Bihar School of Yoga, and her teaching is inspired by the guidance of her Guru, Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati.
The Saturday class is for a small group of students only and is longer than usual, allowing us to delve into the depths of our practice. The classes emphasize not only the body but also the breath and meditation. Usually, at the end of the class, we chant a mantra, which is really beautiful.
The effect of the class is a profound relaxation on all levels of the mind, body, and soul, and I finally feel that I am progressing in my yoga practice.

what people say
I can highly recommend Shantimitra as a yoga teacher for any level of experience. She is a devoted yogi and shares her knowledge with ease and care. The class is a holistic experience, not a workout. The asanas we perform are very simple but profound and after Yoga Nidra and mantra chanting, the relaxation you feel is blissful.
This is the real deal - classical, integral yoga from India. If you're looking for the Westernized, Lululemon-workout style of yoga, this is not for you.
Since starting the weekly Saturday classes last year I've developed my own daily yoga practice and have seen so many benefits in my life. Thank you Shantimitra!

what people say
Shantimitra creates a space filled with peace and joy in her yoga classes. By combining breath with movement, I was able to let go of my thoughts and and achieve mental clarity. The class itself is wonderfully structured and she explains the benefits of the practices. Closinging the class by singing a mantra leaves you full of joy. Shantimitra is also a very inspiring person with a peaceful aura. I am very grateful to know her as a person and also for her knowledge of Yoga. I haven't encountered another yoga teacher quite like her, and I am immensely thankful for the opportunity to delve into the world of classical yoga through her guidance.
